I’m currently attending the Summer School by Climate Change AI, here’s my thoughts on what I learn there. I’ll periodically update this entry as I go through more weeks of the school, that lasts through August.
I’ve always been interested in learning how Machine Learning is used for non-corporate uses, or for causes that make the world a better place, like fighting climate change, conservation efforts, etc. In a bid to learn more specifics of how exactly this is done, I signed up for the Summer School held every year by Climate Change AI, which is a community of people of all levels of expertise from different fields - Data Science, AI, climate action, conservation - coming together to learn from each other about how better to go about tackling climate change with the help of certain ML methods, and whether using ML is even worth it in different use cases.
